1)Inspired Scholarship:

Initiative of - Department of Science and Technology
Aim – INSPIRE stands for Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research. As the name signifies, it aims at inspiring students in natural or basic science. It is expected to give a boost to the innovation, and research. This programme is also referred as SHE (Scholarship Programme for the Higher Studies).

Benefits under the Scholarship:

  • Total Number of Scholarship: 10,000
  • Amount of the Scholarship: ₹ 80,000
It grants 10,000 scholarships every year. Each scholarship amounts to ₹ 80,000.

Eligibility:

On Class 12th level – Students should stand among the top 1% candidates of their respective boards on an all India basis. They should have got enrolled in the B. Sc. Course or the integrated course M. Sc. Course.
Through IIT JEE exam – Students should have secured top 10,000 ranks in the jee main and should have also get enrolled in the B. Sc. or M. Sc. course.
Through the NEET exam – Students should have secured top 10,000 ranks in the neet and should  have get enrolled in the B. Sc. or M. Sc. course.

2) AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls:

Initiative of – MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development)
Aim – The theme statement of this programme is “Empowering Women through Technical EducationThis programme aims at extending financial support to young women’s so that they can pursue the higher technical studies.

Benefits under the Scholarship:

  • Total Number of Scholarship: 4000 ( Distributed for Degree – 2000 and for Diploma – 2000)
  • Amount of the Scholarship: ₹ 30,000 per annum per student. Additionally, ₹ 2000 is given as the monthly stipend for 10 months.

Eligibility:

  • A student should have taken admission in the 1st year of the Degree or the Diploma course in any AICTE approved college or institution. The admission should have been made on the basis of the centrally administered process whether at the Central level or the State level.  
  • Reservation applies -15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and 27% for OBC candidate/applicant.

3) Ministry of culture scholarship :

Initiative of – Ministry of culture, Government of India
Aim – To provide financial and other benefits to budding cultural talents of the nation.

Benefits under the Scholarship:

  • Total number of scholarships: 400
  • Amount of the scholarship: ₹ 5000 for 2 years.

Eligibility: 

Applicant should have undergone minimum 5 years of training and should be between 18 – 25 years of age.

4) UGC National fellowship for OBC candidates:

Initiative of – Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India
Aim – To give financial assistance to OBC candidates pursuing full time higher studies like M. Phil, Ph. D etc.

Benefits under the Fellowship:

  • Total Number of Fellowships: 300 slots
  • Period of the fellowship: Initially for 2 years. After performance appraisal, if a candidate’s performance is found satisfactory, it is extended for another 3 years.

Eligibility:

  • OBC candidates enrolled in the Ph. D or M. Phil programmes.
  • They should not be availing any scholarship benefit under the UGC NET or the CSIR NET.

5)NTSE:

Initiative of – NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training)
Aim – To provide financial grants to exceptionally talented students from Class 10th onwards.

Benefits under the Scholarship:

  • Total Number of Scholarship: 1000
  • Amount of the Grant:
    • A monthly stipend of ₹ 1250 for beneficiaries from Class 11th to 12th
    • A monthly stipend of ₹ 2000 for beneficiaries in the UG and PG courses.
Eligibility:
On the basis of the test.


6)Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for Students with Disabilities:

Initiative of – Government of India
Aim – To facilitate financial support to disabled students wishing to pursue higher education like research in universities and scientific institutions.

Benefits under the Scholarship:

  • It provides dual benefits to the students with disability. They become eligible for the post of Lectureship and other benefits as well.  
  • A monthly stipend of ₹ 16,000 is given for 2 years. Later on, after evaluation of his/ her work, it will be increased to ₹ 18,000.

Eligibility:

A student should have a disability certificate.

7)Swami Vivekananda Single Girl Child Scholarship for Research in Social Sciences:

Initiative of – UGC (University Grant Commission)
Aim – To provide financial support to single girl child to pursue higher education in Social Science.

Benefits under the Scholarship:

  • A monthly stipend of ₹ 12, 400 is given to the eligible girl students for 2 years.
  • This amount is increased to ₹ 15,000 after an evaluation of the candidate.

Eligibility:

An applicant should be enrolled in the Social Science research programme and should be the single girl child of the family with no sibling.

8)Saksham Scholarship Programme:

Initiative of – Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
Aim – To support differently-abled students to pursue technical education.

Benefits under the Scholarship:

  • Total Number of Scholarship: 1000
  • Amount of the Scholarship: Beneficiaries are given ₹ 30,000 per annum and an additional amount of ₹ 2000 per month for 10 months.

Eligibility:

  • Family income is less than 6 lakhs per annum.
  • Candidate should have taken admission in the 1st year of the Degree or Diploma course.  

9)J.C. Bose Scholarship:

Initiative of – Department of Science and Technology
Aim – To support Scientists and Engineers who are actively making contribution in their field.

Benefits under the Scholarship:

  • Beneficiaries are given ₹ 25,000 per month for 5 years. It can be extended further on the evaluation of the research work.
  • Additional grant of ₹ 10.00 lakhs per annum is also given.

Eligibility:

A candidate should have completed higher studies like Masters and should be pursuing Ph. D in Science or Applied Science.
